Imperial Coffee Chocolate Stout available on shelves now
PORTLAND, Ore. (November 18, 2015) –Zupan’s Markets and Coalition Brewing announce the second release in their Farm-to-Market collaboration series with Imperial Coffee Chocolate Stout. “We are thrilled to have had the opportunity to collaborate with Coalition Brewing on a second beer that showcases the delectable flavors the Northwest has to offer,” said Zupan’s CEO and President Mike Zupan. “Adding quality ingredients from Caffé Umbria and Woodblock Chocolate truly sets the flavor profile of this beer apart.”
Imperial Coffee Chocolate Stout is complex, supremely drinkable and a great beer for the winter season. Flavors of black barley and Chilean caramel malt are combined with Italian espresso and molten cacao from Tanzania to bring this beer to life.
Zupan’s Markets currently has Imperial Coffee Chocolate Stout on its shelves for purchase. A portion of the brew is being barrel-aged in a Bull Run Distilling whiskey barrel for a special release in the fall of 2016.

Chico, CA—November 18, 2015—Sierra Nevada Brewing Co. is launching Otra Vez, an incredibly refreshing gose-style ale that will join the brewery’s year-round lineup. Craft drinkers can find Otra Vez on retail shelves starting January 2016.
Otra Vez means “another time,” and for Sierra Nevada that time is early
California when beers were made from local ingredients. The brewery
trialed various native produce searching for great flavors. Prickly pear
cactus flourishes in the state’s arid deserts, and grapefruit fills the
Central Valley’s flats. Together their fruity-tangy blend makes Otra
Vez, whose tartness is true to the gose style, pop with character.
“We wanted to make one of the easiest drinking craft beers out there,
and funny enough Otra Vez has been a bear to get just right,” said Ken
Grossman, Sierra Nevada’s founder. “We brewed several test batches a
week for nearly a year, and even delicate changes made a big difference.
Then it all clicked with perfect balance and complexity. We think folks
will really enjoy it.”
Otra Vez clocks in at a sessionable 4.5% alcohol by volume, and its
extremely low bitterness allows the prickly pear cactus, grapefruit and
pinch of coriander to shape a bright and refreshing finish.
Courtesy Sierra Nevada Brewing Co
Otra Vez will be available throughout Sierra Nevada’s nationwide
distribution footprint in 12-ounce bottles, 12-ounce cans and on
draught. Craft drinkers can track it and other Sierra Nevada beers down
using the brewery’s Beer Locator.

(Enterprise,Oregon) – We’re happy to announce the continuation of our
experimental beer program with our latest addition: Big Burn Imperial
IPA.
Originally we we’re set to brew this beer during the month of September-
when the boys from Point Blank Distributing in Portland we’re scheduled
to hang at the brewery for a couple days. Turned out that Mother Nature
wasn’t quite up for that- as much of Wallowa County (and Eastern
Oregon) was battling blazes from multiple wild fires.
So after that was all over, and the flames we’re put out by our
fearless and hardworking wildland fire crews- it was time to brew some
beer- hence the name Big Burn Imperial IPA. With some huge aroma from
Mosaic, Simcoe, and Citra hops, Production Manager/Brewer Josh Evans
says, “Big Burn takes everything you love in an northwest style IPA and
makes it’s bigger”. Coming in at 8.5% and a respectable 80 IBU’s, Big
Burn is a remarkably drinkable beer that’s true to style.
You can find Big Burn Imperial IPA in the finest taprooms and
pubs in Portland, Bend, SW Washington, Seattle, and Eastern Oregon.
About Terminal Gravity Brewing:
Founded in 1997, Terminal Gravity Brewing Company sits in the
foothills of the Wallowa Mountains in Enterprise, Oregon. TG first
entered the Oregon beer market with its TG IPA and quickly changed the
beer scene in Oregon in the late 90’s. Since than, TG has continued to
be a part of the growing craft beer movement in the Northwest. With a
wide selection of bottled beers, draught varieties, and seasonal
specialties, Terminal Gravity Brewing distributes its beer in Oregon,
Washington, Idaho, and Hawaii.
TG’s brewers work on an 18 bbl. system and brew a humble 6,000 barrels
of beer per year. For more information please connect with us on social

SEATTLE, Wash. (Nov. 17, 2015) Beer fans near and far will soon be able to enjoy Reuben’s Brews.
This
month, the Ballard brewery signed an agreement with Bellingham’s
Dickerson Distributors to bring Reuben’s bottles and draft beer to
Whatcom, Skagit, Island and San Juan Counties.
“We’re
excited to be working with Dickerson,” says co-founder and head brewer
Adam Robbings. “Like us, they’re a small, family-owned business and it’s
important to us to support family-owned businesses whenever possible.
We’re working on steadily expanding our distribution around the Pacific
Northwest and I know they’ll do a great job of getting our brews to more
beer lovers.”
Distribution of Reuben’s Brews
in King, Kitsap, Pierce, Snohomish and Thurston Counties is already
managed by Click Wholesale Distributing.
The
brewery is also expanding into another new market – one close to
Robbings’ heart. Last week, the first shipment of a few pallets of
Reuben’s Brews beer arrived for distribution in the United Kingdom.
“My
friends and family back in the UK have been asking to get our beer and
we finally managed to do it!” says Robbings, a native of the London
area. “We’re working with Left Coast Distribution on putting together a
UK-wide launch. That’s still in process, but watch this space!”
Reuben’s
is continuing to work on expanding its distribution around the Pacific
Northwest, but it’s going to be a gradual process. The brewery’s
production has expanded from 830 barrels last year to an estimated 2,500
barrels this year and is expected to hit around 6,000 barrels in 2016.
“Although
we have and will continue to increase production, we’ll always be a
small brewery that puts the beer first,” explains Robbings. “We’d love
our beer to be available throughout the Pacific Northwest, but can’t get
ahead of ourselves. We need to be thoughtful and realistic about
expanding distribution and only do it when we have the beer and
resources to do it properly.”
About Reuben’s Brews
Reuben’s
Brews is a small, family-owned brewery located in the Ballard
neighborhood of Seattle, WA. Since we opened in 2012, our beer has been
awarded several local, regional, national and international awards. We
won a gold and a bronze medal at the 2015 Great American Beer Festival
awards, have been awarded 30 World Beer Championships medals, and were
named Mid-Sized Brewery of the Year at the 2015 Washington Beer Awards.
Our expanded taproom and production brewery opened in May 2015. For more

and Jeff Dense, Professor of Political Science at Eastern Oregon
University, will release the results of a study estimating the economic
impact of the 2015 Oregon Brewers Festival. Dense and a team of students
and volunteers administer on-site interviews at the annual summer
event. Both gentlemen will be available to discuss the survey results
and answer any questions.

beer tourism, have upon the Portland economy. Respondents are queried on
demographic factors, along with estimates of OBF related expenditures
in tourism-related categories, including transportation, lodging, meals,
gasoline purchases, non-beer related recreation, beer purchased to take
home, and expenditures at the OBF.
Past years’ economic impact numbers:
2014 = $32.5 Million
2013 = $31.2 Million
2012 = $30 Million
2011 = $23.2 Million
ABOUT THE OREGON BREWERS FESTIVAL
The
Oregon Brewers Festival was founded in 1988 as an opportunity to
expose the public to microbrews at a time when the craft brewing
industry was just getting off the ground. Today, that industry has
succeeded, especially in Oregon, where (as of July 1, 2015) 194
brewing companies operate 234 brewing facilities in 72 cities in Oregon.
Portland has 61 breweries — more than any other city in the world – and
the Portland metropolitan area is the largest craft brewing market in
the US with the most number of breweries at 91. The Oregon Brewers
Festival always takes place the last full weekend in July. The 29th
annual event will take place July 27 through July 31, 2016. For more information, visit www.oregonbrewfest.com.

ESCONDIDO, CA – Some things are just too good for the world to be deprived of them. This is true for Stone Brewing Co.’s rerelease of the delicious and wildly popular beer that was introduced last year in 22-ounce bottles as Stone Xocoveza Mocha Stout.
It was an instant hit. Because craft beer enthusiasts voiced fervent
adoration via social media and online forums, Stone was inspired to
embrace the joyous spirit of giving and rebrew this milk stout infused
with cocoa, coffee, peppers, vanilla, cinnamon and nutmeg. Starting this
week, the beer is making a comeback in 12-ounce six-packs and on draft
at select retailers, restaurants and bars nationwide.
First brewed in 2014 with San Diego homebrewer Chris Banker, this
Mexican hot chocolate-inspired creation was named the champion of
Stone’s annual homebrew competition. Thanks to the adoring public, this
creamy, spiced stout has gone from initially being a one-time offering
to a yearly limited release. While returning with new, winter-influenced
packaging and a new name, “Stone Xocoveza for the Holidays & the
New Year,” the tasty, complex recipe remains the same.
Courtesy of Stone Brewing CO
“Since this beer first arrived on store shelves and on tap, Stone fans
and team members have clamored for more,” said Stone CEO &
co-founder Greg Koch. “We felt compelled to bring back one of our most
popular and beloved beers as a way of thanking those who voiced their
opinions. Now, Stone Xocoveza for Holidays & the New Year will be a
yearly tradition we can all eagerly anticipate.”
When re-creating Banker’s original recipe, unconventional brewing
ingredients were used to emulate the rich, robust flavors of Mexican hot
chocolate. Cocoa and milk sugar added during the brewing process gives
the beer another level of sweetness. Coffee provided by San Diego-based
roaster Mostra Coffee, pure cocoa from Southern California’s ChocoVivo and
vanilla give the beer a rich, roasty flavor. Cinnamon, nutmeg and a
small dose of pasilla peppers create a medley of piquant aromas. The
malt bill offers the beer a strong backbone for all those flavors and
aromas, while English Challenger and English East Kent Golding hops
provide the perfect amount of bitterness to harmonize with the flavorful
diversity.
Stone Xocoveza for the Holidays & the New Year may be enjoyed fresh
or stored at proper cellaring temperatures for months or even years.
Over time, the malt character will evolve, making the cocoa and coffee
flavors more prevalent.

Tasting Notes provided by Brewmaster Mitch Steele
Appearance: Pours black with a thick brown head. Aroma: Intense
cinnamon, cocoa and coffee are followed by nutmeg and peppers. As the
beer warms up, the flavor combinations evolve and the cocoa and vanilla
notes really start to open up. Taste: Cocoa
and cinnamon are at the forefront. The coffee, nutmeg and vanilla
follow, and the fruitiness and heat of the pasilla peppers come through
nicely on the finish. Palate: Full bodied and very smooth with a light bitterness. The sweetness adds a lot to this beer without being syrupy. Overall: When
we first brewed this beer in 2014, I think everyone on the brewing team
was blown away by its multiple layers of flavor. The inspiration came
from Mexican hot chocolate combined with coffee. We loved how
wonderfully this beer showcases the spices, cocoa and subtle coffee
roast flavors, so much that we were excited to bring it back as an
annual Stone special release.

Ft. Collins, Colo., November 16, 2015– New Belgium Brewing
joins the mutiny against gluten by hoisting pints of its new Glütiny
ales. The brewery’s latest year-round offerings, Glütiny Pale Ale and
Glütiny Golden Ale, give discerning craft beer drinkers uncompromised
choices in the gluten-reduced category. The two beers will be available
in New Belgium markets mid-January, 2016.
Courtesy of New Belgium Brewing
Glütiny Golden Ale
New Belgium dosed Glütiny Golden Ale with Nugget, Goldings and Cascade
hops, and then dry-hopped it again with Cascade. These bright, floral
hops lend grapefruit and subtle herb notes to the wash of bready-sweet
malts. An addition of oats adds a layer of smoothness to the mouthfeel.
At 5.2 percent ABV and 20 IBUs, Glütiny Golden Ale is a sessionable,
flavorful ale that starts sweet and ends crisp.
Courtesy of New Belgium Brewing
Glütiny Pale Ale
Glütiny Pale Ale has a hefty dose of exotic Equinox hops, which bring
out guava, papaya and stone fruits lending to a sweet, slightly toasty
malt flavor. Additional hops include chinook, cascade and crystal. The
beer starts with a light sweetness that slides into a balanced
bitterness. The mouthfeel is juicy with a crisp finish. Glütiny Pale Ale
comes in at 6 percent ABV and 30 IBUs.
For both beers, New Belgium’s brewers used an enzyme to break down the
proteins that trigger a reaction from gluten-sensitive consumers. The
beers are technically gluten-removed rather than gluten free, but fall
well within the FDA’s guidelines of less than 20ppm. All New Belgium
gluten-reduced beers will come in under 10ppm.
“When we started experimenting with the recipes, we wanted to create
beers that our most adventurous craft beer drinkers would enjoy” said
Bryan Simpson, spokesperson for New Belgium Brewing. “We didn’t want to
compromise on flavor, mouthfeel or body. These beers deliver the full
flavored experience craft drinkers expect foremost with the added
benefit of being gluten-reduced.”
New Belgium’s Glütiny ales retail for a suggested price $9.99 a six pack.

Seattle, WA, November 13, 2015: After one
of the most stunning summers on record, the cold and dark of winter is
finally returning to the Northwest. Sure, we all still enjoy an IPA, but

holiday foods. This festive and flavorful seasonal beer has subtle

Englishman, Michael started writing seriously about beer in 1976 and
wrote until the time of his death in 2007. He was passionate about
introducing people to beers they had yet to try and many people credit
him with rekindling interest in beer via his books, articles and TV
show. Michael was also one Pike Brewing Founder and Owner, Charles’,
close friends. He christened The Pike Pub as “a shrine to beer!”
