Terminal Gravity Brewing Releasing Eagle Cap IPA in Twelve Ounce Cans

Courtesy of Kevin Harlander, Terminal Gravity Brewing

We’ve been brewing beer in the Middle of Nowhere since 1997. We used to drive it to Portland 8 kegs at a time.  It was never about the vessel or the means, it was strictly about the liquid. It was, and still remains, about the beer. Over the last twenty years that mantra hasn’t changed. We pride ourselves on making handmade, work hard, brewed with grit, beer. We’ve known for a while now that the vessel does indeed matter, especially in the Middle of Nowhere. So that’s why we’re proud to offer Eagle Cap IPA in new twelve ounce cans. These cans are meant to be enjoyed deep in the Oregon backcountry, on the winding waters of the Snake River, or just as easily on the porch.
They’re on shelves now at New Seasons Markets, Whole Foods, Zupan’s Markets, Market of Choice, and other fine retailers.

First brewed as an experimental one-off, Eagle Cap IPA quickly surged in popularity from Eastern Oregon to Portland. Packed with Citra hops, a clean yet sturdy malt backbone, and an approachable 6.1% ABV, Eagle Cap IPA boasts notes of citrus, tropical orange, and grapefruit. It’s a Northwest IPA, clean and bright and now available in a no nonsense vessel. So get yourself a six pack, we’ll see you in the Middle of Nowhere.

Cheers, Friends.

Terminal Gravity Brewing is located in the small town of Enterprise, Oregon. Just a quick 320 miles from Portland, we’re nestled in the foothills of the Wallowa Mountains.  We cut our teeth on craft brewing twenty years ago and drove the first kegs of TG IPA to PDX in the back of a pickup truck, eight kegs at a time.  It quickly became a favorite of beer drinkers all over the PNW.

Twenty years later we’ve kept our roots a priority all the while envisioning and executing an exploratory path among new IPA’s, pilsners, American lagers, and barrel aged beers.  Our beers are an ode to our place, our people, and the kind of life worth living.

Terminal Gravity Brewing Releases Roshambo Hoppy Pale Ale

Courtesy of Terminal Gravity Brewing
Enterprise, OR -- Old man winter is on the retreat! It’s time to trade the Bog boots for the Chaco sandles and the stouts for the summer pale ales. We’re proud to introduce a new seasonal bottled beer for the season’s enjoyment.

Roshambo Hoppy Pale Ale is an American Pale Ale brewed with copious amounts of Denali and Eureka! hops. It begins with the aroma of fresh cut pineapple and citrus, and gives way to a light and crisp malt bill, ending with a slight bitterness (just 40 IBU’s) reminiscent of melon rind. We’ve been refreshed by this beer, and at 5.5% ABV it’ll have you reaching for another.

Denali hops are the real story here. We picked this hop up about a year ago when it was still #06277, an experimental hop with genetic origins from Nugget and Zeus.  It wowed us with a new sort of citrus, allowing us to shed the winter blues and see July on the horizon. So shake off that winter coat and chill down a sixer of Roshambo...spring is just ‘round the corner.

Available in 12 ounce bottles, tucked into 6-packs. You can find Roshambo at Market of Choice, New Seasons Markets, Fred Meyer Stores, Safeway, Zupans, and wherever TG is sold.

Terminal Gravity Brewing Announces The Release of Big Burn Imperial IPA

Courtesy of Terminal Gravity Brewing
(Enterprise,Oregon) – We’re happy to announce the continuation of our experimental beer program with our latest addition: Big Burn Imperial IPA.

Originally we we’re set to brew this beer during the month of September- when the boys from Point Blank Distributing in Portland we’re scheduled to hang at the brewery for a couple days. Turned out that Mother Nature wasn’t quite up for that- as much of Wallowa County (and Eastern Oregon) was battling blazes from multiple wild fires.

So after that was all over, and the flames we’re put out by our fearless and hardworking wildland fire crews- it was time to brew some beer- hence the name Big Burn Imperial IPA. With some huge aroma from Mosaic, Simcoe, and Citra hops, Production Manager/Brewer Josh Evans says, “Big Burn takes everything you love in an northwest style IPA and makes it’s bigger”. Coming in at 8.5% and a respectable 80 IBU’s, Big Burn is a remarkably drinkable beer that’s true to style.

You can find Big Burn Imperial IPA in the finest taprooms and pubs in Portland, Bend, SW Washington, Seattle, and Eastern Oregon.

Terminal Gravity Releasing Slick Rock Fresh Hop IPA

Courtesy of Terminal Gravity
September 16th, 2015 - Enterprise, OR - Terminal Gravity Brewing is happy to announce that this Friday (September, 18th) Slick Rock Fresh Hop IPA will hit the Portland market.  Brewed with over 100 lbs, of fresh Simcoe hops, this single batch limited release is one of our favorite beers to make!

We partnered with Carpenter Ranches in Granger Washington; they’ve been growing hops since the late 1800’s, and have some of the finest varieties in the Pacific Northwest.  With large and juicy hop cones, it was a no brainer to drive the 300 miles to snatch up a few hundred pounds of freshly picked Simcoe hops to brew our annual Slick Rock Fresh Hop IPA.

Simcoe hops are unique in that they offer great bittering potential, while also having complex aromatic qualities perfect for NW Style IPA’s.  We’re talking about citrus, pine, and earthy notes that reminded us of the harvest we just participated in.

“Our team at TG has a really good time brewing this beer, says Marketing Manager Kevin Harlander.” Part of the excitement comes in the process and the tight time window we have to get it done.  These hops we’re picked in the morning near Granger Washington, and we raced them back to Wallowa County to get them in the brew by midday.”

Slick Rock Fresh Hop IPA is a NW style IPA that has the rich color of wildflower honey and an aroma of citrus pine, with woodsy and floral undertones.  At 6.1% ABV and just over 65 IBU’s, this IPA is well balanced with a reassuring bitterness that’s sure to please.

You can find this single batch, limited release, Slick Rock Fresh Hop IPA at the Terminal Gravity Pub and the following pubs and beer bars throughout Portland area:

Terminal Gravity Brewing Releasing Wallowa Lake Lager

Courtesy of Terminal Gravity Brewing
Enterprise, OR- May 8, 2015 - Terminal Gravity is happy to announce the seasonal release of Wallowa Lake Lager.  Following a successful, but limited small batch release in the spring of 2014, TG is set to make this pre-prohibition style pilsner more available throughout the late spring and summer season.

When German Immigrants brewed the first pilsners in America, ingredients including two-row barley and Bavarian hops were not readily available.  A more practical option was American barley (six-row) and harsh American hops.  These ingredients became the backbone of their lager beers.  Additionally, these brewers discovered that corn mellowed the harsh flavors brought on by American barely, while simultaneously making the beer clean and bright.

Courtesy of Terminal Gravity Brewing
The addition of corn to the malt bill actually provides for a unique flavor profile that mutually benefits an assertive, but not aggressive hop presence.  Some have called this style of beer “Uniquely American”.

Wallowa Lake Lager is a session-able beer, (4.75 ABV) perfect for a summer patio sit.  At 37 IBU’s, Ultra and Crystal hops provide for an unexpected crisp bitterness.  It’s named after one of Wallowa County’s most beautiful landmarks, Wallowa Lake.

Available in Portland, Eugene, Bend and surrounding Oregon markets; Wallowa Lake Lager will be released in ½ bbl kegs.

A release party is set for Thursday May 14th, 2015 at The White Owl Social Club from 5-8 PM.
