Reuben’s Brews Announces 2017 Beer Release Calendar

Seattle, WA - Reuben’s Brews today announced its lineup of beers for 2017, including year-round favorites, seasonal releases, and limited brews. The brewery’s much lauded Gose, Crikey IPA and Robust Porter will continue to be available to its fans year-round. The official beer of Seattle Beer Week 2016 – Daily Pale - is back this month as a seasonal in cans, 22oz bottles and draft and will run through April, followed by the much loved Summer IPA and finally Roasted Rye IPA in the fall.

Imperial seasonals are also being released throughout the year, along with some very limited quarterly releases. If you’re lucky enough to visit the brewery in Seattle’s Ballard District, there will be some brand-new experimental beers on tap in the brewery’s Taproom Series.  The brewery has 25 taps in its taproom, pouring beers from both its production and small batch breweries, and regularly has new beers on tap for beer lovers to enjoy.

Dale's Pale Ale Becomes Nation's Bestselling Craft Can Six-Pack As Oskar Blues Brewery Grows in All Directions in 2016

Longmont, CO, Brevard, NC & Austin, TX - Oskar Blues Brewery, the innovators behind the craft beer-in-a-can apocalypse, finished 2016 strong eclipsing 200,000 barrels shipped with several significant milestones achieved throughout the year including the addition of a brewery in Austin, several new SKUs, expansion of its barrel-aging program and the completion of its U.S. footprint. Flagship brew Dale's Pale Ale became the bestselling craft can 6-pack in total U.S. Food.  
In August of 2016, Oskar Blues' brewery and live music venue opened its doors in Austin, TX while a 21,000 square foot expansion took place in its Brevard, NC brewery raising the potential capacity amongst all three breweries to 500,000 bbls and adding 43 jobs. The brand also completed its 50 state U.S. footprint with distribution in Montana and further expanded internationally with the addition of Australia, the Netherlands, and Belgium, totaling nine international markets.
Oskar Blues continued to push innovation through new beer offerings and packaging.  The Can gROWLER (CROWLER®) from Ball Corporation and Oskar Blues grew to over 1,000 installations to date.  Many of the last year's installations were due to new locations choosing aluminum over glass for their growler choice and many established locations discontinued offering glass growlers altogether.  CROWLER® has quickly shown how far cans have come and how beneficial the evolution of CROWLER® cans are to the growler customer.
The brewery launched four new SKUs, including year-round offerings BEERITO Amber Mexican Lager and Priscilla White Wit Wheat, while launching limited release cans of Passion Fruit Pinner IPA and Hotbox Coffee Porter. The expansion of its barrel-aging program resulted in national distribution of Barrel-aged Ten FIDY Imperial Stout in 19.2 ounce, single-serve cans and limited taproom-only releases of rum barrel-aged Death by Coconut, rum barrel-aged Ten FIDY and Java Ten FIDY. The team at Oskar Blues didn't stop there, recently launching Pinner Throwback IPA in new packaging - resulting in the first American craft beer 16-pack**.
Ancillary brands also saw growth, including four new flavors of B. Stiff & Sons Old Fashioned Soda Pop and the launch of new Oskar Blues Fooderies concepts in its home market of ColoRADo, which includes a CHUBurger/Hotbox Roasters Café brick and mortar location in the RiNo district of Denver.

Oskar Blues Holding Company, a strong group of craft brewers, including Wasatch Brewery, Squatters Brewery and Perrin Brewing furthered its mission to maintain symbiotic partnerships with like-minded craft brewers across the country with the addition of Tampa's Cigar City Brewing. While Dales Pale Ale is the bestselling craft can 6-pack in the U.S., Cigar City has the number two spot, with Jai Alai IPA.  Oskar Blues Holdings grew collectively to nearly 350,000 barrels and is the number two overall craft can vendor and number 15 overall in total U.S. Food.  That's a particularly good spot to be in, as craft cans have been up 55% over the last 52 weeks. 

Oskar Blues continued to spread do-goodery with its nonprofit arm, CAN'd Aid Foundation. In 2016 alone, the organization raised $768,000, built & donated nearly 600 bikes to underprivileged children, put 100 instruments in budding musician's hands, recycled 155,000 lbs. of waste through its #CrushItCrusade and donated 330,000 cans of drinking water to areas in need including Flint, Michigan during its water crisis. Soul-founder of Oskar Blues Dale Katechis founded CAN'd Aid in 2013 following the Colorado flooding that devastated Oskar Blues Brewery's hometown in Lyons, Colorado. To date, over $2.6 million has been raised to support its efforts.
As for 2017, Oskar Blues has already set its sights on further growth, celebrating the 20th year of what started as a funky little brewpub in Lyons, CO in 1997. Lompoc’s Chowder Challenge takes a hiatus; Black Out Beer Fest expands to an all-day event

PORTLAND, Ore. – Jan. 18, 2016 – Lompoc Brewing has announced that its annual Chowder Challenge will take a hiatus this year to address venue and space issues. In its place, the brewery has expanded its popular Black Out Beer Fest to an all-day event.

The 5th annual Black Out Beer Fest will take place on Saturday, Feb. 25 from Noon to 10pm at Sidebar, located at 3901 N Williams Ave, and in the heated & tented parking lot in front of the Fifth Quadrant restaurant (around the corner at the same address). The event will feature 25 rotating dark beers – including porters, stouts, coffee beers and black IPAs – from Lompoc and more than 20 guest breweries from around the Northwest.

Admission into the event is free; tasting packages are required to taste the beers and cost $20, which includes a souvenir 15.5 oz glass mug and eight beer tickets. Additional beer tickets are available for $1 apiece. It costs four tickets for a full mug of beer or one ticket for a taste. A portion of the proceeds will be donated to the Community Transitional School.
The event will kick off the morning of Feb. 25 with a pre-fest Brunch at Fifth Quadrant from 9am to 1pm, featuring an exclusive brunch menu paired with specialty dark beers.

Black Out Beer Fest ticket sales will take place at the door in Sidebar; advance tickets are not available. The beers will be served in both Sidebar and in the tented and heated parking lot adjacent to the Fifth Quadrant pub. The event is for ages 21 and over, although minors and attendees are welcome inside the Fifth Quadrant pub.

Old Town Brewing Releases Third Grimm Collaboration Beer to Benefit OHSU Doernbecher

Portland, Ore ... Old Town Brewing® (OTB®), a locally owned and operated Portland nationally recognized brewery, has just released its third limited batch beer in collaboration with Portland-filmed TV series, Grimm®. Wesen Venom (pronounced Vesen Venom), a red wheat lager, will benefit OHSU Doernbecher Children’s Hospital, and culminate the series’ final season. The beer will be available at both the Old Town location on NW Davis and the brewery location on Martin Luther King Blvd, with $2 of every pint going directly to the Grimmster Endowment at OHSU Doernbecher.

The Wesen Venom is a wheat lager brewed with red wheat and crystal malt, giving the beer a venom red color and hint of sweetness. Don’t be fooled, however, just like venom, the beer packs a bit of a bite thanks to the spicy hops used in the brewing process. This unique lager comes in with an ABV of 5.4 percent and 40 IBU. 
The beer will be officially launch on Thursday January 19, at the brewery located at 5201 NE MLK Boulevard and Taproom on 226 NW Davis St.

Bridgeport Brewing Releases 17th Annual Old Knucklehead Barley Wine

Ecliptic Brewing Releasing Capella Porter in Bottles

Capella Porter 22oz Bottles Begin Shipping in Mid-January

PORTLAND, Ore. –. Ecliptic Brewing’s Capella Porter had quite the year in 2016---Gold at the World Beer Cup, the US Open Beer Championships, and the Oregon Beer Awards. These beer competitions bring out the best of the best in the craft beer world and it is quite the honor for a brewery to be able to say one of their beers brought home gold at all three.

Beyond this, Ecliptic’s Brewmaster John Harris, known for creating other award-winning Porters, wrote the recipe for Capella Porter.  These things combined have created a demand for Capella Porter beyond its current draft only offering and Ecliptic is answering the calls.

Stout Month At Fort George Starting February 1st

Astoria, Oregon – January 16th, 2017 – It started with a simple enough idea: take a versatile, yet underappreciated style like stout, brew as many as your boss will allow, and put them on tap all at once. This was the idea Jack Harris, co-founder of Fort George, had over twenty years ago as a young brewer working for McMenamin’s Cornelius Pass Roadhouse.

“Nobody else was doing it,” Jack explains. “I certainly wasn’t paying any attention to marketing or filling niches, it was sort of dumb luck on my part that folks really responded to the idea of celebrating a variety of stouts during the cold, dark days of February.”

Throughout the years, as he moved from town to town, he took the stouts with him. “It’s the people I’ve worked with since then that have taken the idea and run with it. That’s what makes Stout Month such a big deal,” he continues. “It gets more sophisticated, elaborate, and popular every year.”

And now that he has his own brewery, February at Fort George is forever dedicated to Stout Month, a twenty-eight day celebration of the darker ales. Taps will pour invitingly black, overflowing with new stout releases each week, and all centered around the darkest single-day stout festival in the world — the Festival of Dark Arts.

Ghostfish Brewing Celebrates its 2nd Anniversary with a Limited Release and Party

Seattle, WA— Ghostfish Brewing has brewed a limited amount of a very special anniversary beer for their upcoming celebration.

This Wood-Aged Imperial Brown Ale has an intricate grain bill featuring a veritable rainbow of rice and millet malts, giving it a complex nutty sweetness and full-bodied taste. Wood-aging on hard maple staves for two months softened the alcoholic sharpness of this sturdy brew, and contributed mild tannins and woody aromatics to help balance the malt character.

In addition to being 100% gluten free, this beer is also made with no nuts, soy, corn or cane sugar!

Everybody's Brewing Releases Mountain Mama Pale Ale

Press Release: Everybody’s Brewing announced today the release of their newest beer, Mountain Mama Pale Ale. Coming in at 5.6% ABV, and 55 IBUs, the hop profile is led by Citra and Cascade, with CTZ used for bittering. The brewery plans to keep this beer available year round.

Since December, this beer has been brewed exclusively for Mount Hood Meadows Ski Resort. However, due to overwhelming popularity and positive reviews, Everybody’s decided to release this beer for wider distribution, including their pub in White Salmon, WA. “We tried a new blend of hops in this Pale, and the reception has been outstanding. It was an easy decision to make it available to a wider audience,” said owner/brewmaster Doug Ellenberger.

The beer is named Mountain Mama in honor of co-founder of the brewery, Christine Elleberger, who graduated from West Virginia University, where she was a white water rafting guide and kayaker. A true outdoors-woman, her love of snowboarding and rivers brought her to the Northwest, and also inspired Doug to giver her the nickname Mountain Mama. “She’s the heart and soul behind this brewery, and she deserves a beer named after her. We wanted the tap handle to represent what a strong and amazing woman she is,” said Doug.

Head brewer Adam McClure is extremely proud of this beer as well, noting the strong aroma, and clean finish. “I wanted to give the drinker a big, juicy fruit, citrus aroma, but not blow them away with bitterness. We wanted to make a beer that can be enjoyed by everyone, from craft novice, to the hop heads of the Northwest. We also used some rolled oats in the recipe, which helps give it a nice body. The result is a clean, flavorful American Pale Ale.”

The blonde ale is light and refreshing with an explosion of hops

Ft. Collins, Colo., January 17, 2017 – New Belgium Brewing’s new spring seasonal Whizbang, is a hoppy blonde ale bursting with Mosaic hops riding atop a malty backbone. The result is a full-flavored taste explosion. The beer, which is available now through March in 12 oz. bottles and on draft, is a sessionable spring alternative. The light and refreshing ale has a soft malt base, with vibrant notes of mango, lemon, blueberry, and pine thanks to Mosaic, UK Admiral, and Centennial dry-hopping.
