Everybody’s Brewing Announces the Release of 12oz Cans of Mountain Mama Citra Pale Ale

Courtesy of Everybody's Brewing Co

Everybody’s Brewing announced the release date of their new 12oz can, Mountain Mama Citra Pale Ale, available beginning Friday, March 16th. Coming in at 5.6% ABV, and 55 IBUs, the hop profile is led by Citra, but also uses Cascade and CTZ for bittering. The brewery plans to keep this beer available year-round, with a release party scheduled at Volcanic Bottle Shoppe in Hood River from 5-8pm that Friday night.

Mountain Mama’s Citra-forward recipe gives it a juicy aroma and flavor, with thirst-quenching citrus flavor. Rolled oats are used in the grain bill, which adds body and gives the brew a silky mouthfeel. They were given permission by Yakima Chief - Hopunion to use the word “Citra” in the name, as it is a proprietary hop grown by the farm.

Choosing which beer to package for year-round distribution is a big decision for a brewery, but they are confident in Mountain Mama. Owner/Brewmaster Doug Ellenberger said they carefully considered current market trends. “We see a lot of things coming full circle. IPAs are still king, but a lot of consumers want a juicy IPA flavor with a lower ABV, so they can enjoy more of them. It makes a Pale the perfect style for a can.” Six packs will first hit the shelves of local bottle shops and small grocery stores, and rollout into major chain stores is expected by the start of this summer.

Just five years ago, Ellenberger found his brewery on the leading edge of a different market trend: craft beer in a can. At that time, glass bottles were the preferred package type, and almost no one was using cans. Everybody’s Country Boy IPA helped pave the way for what is now commonplace: IPA in a can. When mentioned as a trendsetter, Ellenberger is humble, “Yeah, we were early adopters, but it just made sense. It’s better for the beer, the consumer, and the environment. I’ve loved canned beer since I was a kid, so I couldn’t wait to put our IPA in a can. Now everyone is doing it, and I couldn’t be happier about it.”  The new Citra-Pale will join their current can lineup of Country Boy IPA, and Local Logger Lager.

Mountain Mama was originally brewed exclusively for Mount Hood Meadows Ski Resort.  It’s overwhelming popularity and positive reviews made it the clear choice to put in a can. “The Citra Hops we got this year from Yakima Chief - Hop Union were so flavorful and bright; they really make this beer pop. Getting first hop selection is an honor, and you can taste the difference. It’s got a huge aroma, and clean finish,” said Head Brewer, Adam McClure

The beer is named Mountain Mama in honor of co-founder of the brewery, Christine Ellenberger, who graduated from West Virginia University, where she was a whitewater rafting guide and kayaker. A true outdoors-woman, her love of snowboarding and rivers brought her to the Northwest, which inspired Doug to give her the nickname Mountain Mama. “She’s the heart and soul behind this brewery. We wanted the artwork on the can to represent what a strong and amazing woman she is”, said Doug. “We hope to see lots of people celebrating with us at Volcanic on Friday.”

Everybody’s Brewing Releases Spring Seasonal Bottle and Draft Lineup

Courtesy of Everybody's Brewing Co
(White Salmon, WA) Everybodys Brewing announced today their spring seasonal 22 oz bottle will be a farmhouse ale brewed with Pear Juice.  The beer will be called Get A Pear.  The Saison inspired farmhouse ale comes in at 6.5% ABV, and 25 IBUs.  Get A Pear will be released in Portland, at Belmont Station on Wednesday, March 8th, and at Bens Bottle Shop in Vancouver on Wednesday, March 15th.  Bottles of Get A Pear will be available at fine retailers throughout the Northwest until June 1.  A limited amount of kegs will be available on draft as well.

The beer was fermented with a never before used Belgian Saison yeast strain from Imperial Organic Yeast, and used a grain bill that was made up of 25% flaked rice.  Jarrlo and Centennial hops are featured, and near the very end of fermentation, organic pear juice was added to the tanks.  Their goal was to brew a clean, light bodied farmhouse ale, and really let the flavors of the pear juice and the yeast strain shine.

Jess Caudill, Co-Head Brewer at Everybodys, said he was pleased with how his recipe turned out.  The yeast strain has some very unique flavors, and they really come through on this beer.  You get some nice floral aromas, and definitely some vanilla and clove notes from the yeast.  Ive always wanted to brew a beer with pear juice, and it gives just enough flavor, but without much sweetness.  Its a clean, Saison inspired farmhouse, with a pear twist.  We are really happy with this one.

Everybodys has several other draft-only releases for the spring coming out in the next few weeks, including Plymouth Hop, a New England Style IPA featuring Galaxy and Azzaca hops, and their quaffable German-Style Pilsner, which has been in tanks for over a month now.  The brewery will also add a Berliner Weisse to the lineup, a stye that is one of Caudills favorites.  We are really excited about what we have coming out this spring, said Caudill. We have creative brewers here, and its been great watching them put their heads together to come up with new recipes.

Everybody's Brewing Releases Mountain Mama Pale Ale

Courtesy of Everybody's Brewing Co
Press Release: Everybody’s Brewing announced today the release of their newest beer, Mountain Mama Pale Ale. Coming in at 5.6% ABV, and 55 IBUs, the hop profile is led by Citra and Cascade, with CTZ used for bittering. The brewery plans to keep this beer available year round.

Since December, this beer has been brewed exclusively for Mount Hood Meadows Ski Resort. However, due to overwhelming popularity and positive reviews, Everybody’s decided to release this beer for wider distribution, including their pub in White Salmon, WA. “We tried a new blend of hops in this Pale, and the reception has been outstanding. It was an easy decision to make it available to a wider audience,” said owner/brewmaster Doug Ellenberger.

The beer is named Mountain Mama in honor of co-founder of the brewery, Christine Elleberger, who graduated from West Virginia University, where she was a white water rafting guide and kayaker. A true outdoors-woman, her love of snowboarding and rivers brought her to the Northwest, and also inspired Doug to giver her the nickname Mountain Mama. “She’s the heart and soul behind this brewery, and she deserves a beer named after her. We wanted the tap handle to represent what a strong and amazing woman she is,” said Doug.

Head brewer Adam McClure is extremely proud of this beer as well, noting the strong aroma, and clean finish. “I wanted to give the drinker a big, juicy fruit, citrus aroma, but not blow them away with bitterness. We wanted to make a beer that can be enjoyed by everyone, from craft novice, to the hop heads of the Northwest. We also used some rolled oats in the recipe, which helps give it a nice body. The result is a clean, flavorful American Pale Ale.”

Portland, Ore. (June 2, 2016) - HOTLIPS Pizza and Everybody’s Brewing have joined forces to produce a special IPA to celebrate Pride in the month of June. HOTLIPS employees took part in the brewing process, making a trip to Everybody’s Brewing in White Salmon, Washington, to participate, hands-on.
The result of the collaboration is an IPA with a robust nose, full of tropical fruit and mango flavors with a clean finish. It’s loaded with Masaic and Mandarina Bavaria hops, and is bright yellow with an orange tint. This beer weighs in at 6.7% ABV, with 75 IBUs.

“We’re lucky to have such a friendly, cooperative beer and food community. Our crew was welcomed warmly and included in each step of the process at Everybody’s Brewing,” says HOTLIPS Pizza’s Beverage Coordinator, Emily Matthews. “We learned a lot about how beer is brewed from start to finish, and were included in the process from grinding the grain to adding the hops and even cleaning out the tanks. It was a great day, and we have a great beer to show for it!”

Timed to be available throughout the month of June, the PrIdePA is symbolic of the unity and equality that are honored with the annual LGBT Pride celebration. This brew is on tap at all six HOTLIPS Pizza locations in the Portland area, as well as at Everybodys’ Brewing in White Salmon, Washington. It will also be featured at the Portland Beer Week/HOTLIPS Block Party on June 18th at HOTLIPS on SE 22nd & Hawthorne.

“We really try to embrace what the name ‘Everybody's Brewing’ means,” says brewery owner Doug Ellenberger. “We think beer is a fantastic way to bring people together, so we were happy to have the HOTLIPS staff come out and lend a hand in brewing this IPA with us. Courtesy of Everybody's Brewing Co

Press Release - White Salmon, WA - On Wednesday, Nov. 25, Everybody's Brewing will begin selling 22 oz. bottles of barrel aged, and specialty beers directly from it's pub in White Salmon, WA.  The brewery is calling these bottles the "Local Harvest Series", as they will only be available for purchase locally at their pub.  The series will roll out with two offerings: Barrel Aged Sour Cherry Saison, and Russian Imperial Stout. To celebrate, they will open their newly expanded brewery to the public for tours from 2 to 5 pm, with the opportunity to sample beer straight from the bright tanks.

Owner/Brewmaster Doug Ellenberger said he's excited to finally bottle some of his beer.  "We make some barrel aged, and specialty beers that we don't distribute, so we're happy to give people who visit the pub a chance to enjoy these beers at home.  We're starting to see our barrel aging program mature, and this will be a great outlet for those beers."  He also noted that the Local Harvest Series will rotate styles frequently, selling each new bottle only while supplies last.  "We're really pleased with how these first two beers turned out", said Ellenberger.

The Russian Imperial Stout clocks in at 10% ABV, and 90 IBUs.  According to Everybody's, "This Russian Imperial Stout is packed with roasty, black licorice, and chocolate aromas.  The rich sweetness from the big malt bill is balanced with a light bitterness.  A long fermentation process at low temperatures keeps this beer clean and drinkable".

Barrel Aged Sour Cherry Saison is 6.9% ABV, and 24 IBUs.  "This Saison began as a crisp Belgian Saison brewed with Pilsner malts and Merkur hops.  After primary fermentation, we racked the beer to Pinot Noir barrels and added 125 lbs. of local Sour Cherries to each barrel.  After three months of aging, this beer is full of cherry flavor and aroma."

If you make it out to White Salmon for this bottle release, make sure to stick around for their annual "Night Before Thanksgiving Karaoke", which starts at 8:30.  Now in it's seventh year, this party never disappoints, and draws locals from all over the gorge.

Everybody’s Brewing Releases HoppyAF DIPA from Tiny Tank Series

Courtesy of Everybody's Brewing

White Salmon,WA - Everybody’s Brewing announced this week the release of the latest beer from their Tiny Tank Series, a Double IPA called HoppyAF.  It will first be tapped at their White Salmon, WA brewpub on Thursday August 20th, and available on draft throughout the Northwest August 24th. HoppyAF predominantly uses Galaxy and Citra hops, clocking in at 80 IBU’s, and 7.4% ABV.

Owner/Brewmaster Doug Ellenberger is extremely pleased with the beer.  “We used over 2 lbs. of hops per barrel, and really tried to get the tropical fruitiness from the Galaxy Hops.  We used a new hopping technique we have been talking about for a while, and we’re beyond pleased with the result.  It gave us the big nose we wanted, and the balance is just right.  We are really excited about this one”.

HoppyAF marks the fourth offering from Everybody’s Tiny Tank Series, the brewery’s “experimental” series of beers it started releasing since their expansion has allowed them more free tank space.  “We finally have a facility big enough to accommodate our creativity.  The Tiny Tank Series has been a great outlet for us to push the limits of craft beer, which is important to us.” said Ellenberger. Past creations from the series include a Hibiscus Sour Ale called Sprinkles, a Double India Pale Lager, and a unique Gose style beer with Coco nibs added.

Supplies of HoppyAF are limited, and the brewery expects to sell out of the beer over the next few weeks.  They are still deciding what beer will follow up HoppyAF, but they expect to release the next Tiny Tank beer sometime in the fall.

Everybody's Brewing Announces Local Logger Lager Cans

Courtesy of Everybody's Brewing Co
White Salmon, WA (May 12, 2015) - Everybody's Brewing will be adding a third style of beer to their can lineup with the addition of the Local Logger Lager.  The cans will be available first at their Brewpub in White Salmon, WA starting May 15th, followed by the Portland premiere at Belmont Station on May 26, and a second release at Hollywood Beverage on May 29th.

The Local Logger Lager is 4.8% ABV, 28 IBU’s, and is described by Everybody’s Brewing as “A crisp, effervescent beauty.  Not too hoppy, but not too light.  The perfect balance of flavor and refreshment.”  Previously available exclusively on draft, this balance is why it has become a fixture at many bars throughout the Northwest.

Traditionally known for their flagship Country Boy IPA, the Local Logger Lager has also become a standout in their lineup.  “The Lager continues to show impressive growth for us”, said owner/brewmaster Doug Ellenberger.  "Breweries shy away from Lagers because they take so long to make, but the extra touch they take is why I have always loved the style.  We take a traditional German approach to our lager, using only Saaz hops, and a finely tuned malt bill.  The result is a clean, refreshing beer.  It’s an easy drinking Lager that we’re really proud of”.

Everybody's Brewing recently found itself in the national spotlight following a report from the Brewers Association that highlighted the success of their current 6 packs, the Country Boy IPA, and the Little Sister ISA.  According to the report, Everybody's Brewing had the 8th highest sales volume of the 140 breweries nation-wide that released packaged beer for the first time in 2014.  Ellenberger believes the new can will keep their impressive momentum going. “The new cans look great, but we believe it’s whats inside the packaging that really keeps people coming back for more.  Let’s just say we’re planning for a long, hot summer of Lager drinking.”
