Summer IPA and Summer IPA Variety 12-Pack Land May 2018

EUGENE, Ore.—April 26, 2018—Crafted for warm weather, Ninkasi Brewing Company brings back its sunny seasonal, Maiden the Shade Summer IPA, and launches its new Summer IPA Variety 12-Pack, featuring a mix of the brewery’s best IPAs in bottles and cans. Maiden the Shade Summer IPA
Deemed a Summer IPA, Maiden the Shade captures a complex hop profile paired with an exceptionally smooth body. Inspired by the annual Oregon Country Fair, a three-day summer festival held in Oregon, Maiden the Shade is bold, dank and bursting with floral notes. Available next month, Maiden the Shade Summer IPA can be found on-tap and in 12 and 22-ounce bottles.

Ninkasi Brewing Company Names Marty Compton As National Sales Director

EUGENE, Ore.—March 8, 2018Ninkasi Brewing Company proudly announces Marty Compton as its new national sales director. Effective this week, Compton will direct Ninkasi’s sales team covering a distribution footprint of 12 states and two provinces.

Compton brings more than 30 years of experience growing beer sales and market share from both the brewer and distributor perspectives. Most recently as the director of sales at Bell’s Brewery, Inc., Compton led strategic growth including the expansion of Bell’s distribution territory from 11 to 31 states and increasing the brewery’s sales team from six to a force of over 100 individuals.  

“Marty has a history of building customer-focused teams based on passion, collaboration, professionalism, and accountability,” says Cheryl Collins, Ninkasi CEO. “This approach speaks greatly to our company values and where we see Ninkasi thriving in the years to come.”

Prior to his nine-year tenure at Bell’s, Compton’s experience includes leading teams at the distributor level at Alaska Distributors Co., as well as managing a self-distribution team at Redhook Ale Brewery.

“A desire to craft strong, profitable, and lasting partnerships makes Marty the leader we want with us as we navigate this challenging craft landscape,” explains Sarah Johnson, chief customer officer for Ninkasi. “I look forward to working with Marty to elevate our practices and move our brand forward.”

Ninkasi Brewing Releases Green Haze, Fresh Hop Pale Ale

EUGENE, Ore.—Sept. 6, 2017—September in the Pacific Northwest means one thing to beer drinkers: fresh hops. This month, Ninkasi Brewing Company, releases Green Haze, a fresh-hopped pale ale brewed with 400 pounds of fresh Centennial hops per batch. Celebrating the annual hop harvest, Green Haze is full of citrusy and floral hop character. Available for a limited time, beer drinkers will be able to find Green Haze on-tap at select accounts throughout Ninkasi’s distribution footprint.

Cultivated just 70 miles from Ninkasi’s brewing facilities at Goschie Farms in Silverton, Ore., Ninkasi transported 2,000 pounds of freshly-picked Centennial whole cone hops from farm to brewery in just over an hour. As soon as the hops arrived at the brewery, 400 pounds were tossed into the brew kettle for the first batch. Ninkasi’s team of brewers worked through the night, brewing 36 straight-hours to produce five batches of Green Haze.

“Once we started brewing, our brewery became a hop dream,” says Jamie Floyd, Ninkasi co-founder and founding brewer. “The fresh Centennial hops immediately filled the brewhouse with lemon and floral hop aromas; an enticing hop profile to capture in this pale ale.”

For more than 130 years, Goschie Farms has grown crops in Silverton with 550 acres dedicated solely to the hops. A leader in its industry for sustainable practices, Goschie Farms was the first hop farm in the nation to be certified Salmon-Safe. “I’ve known Gayle for over a decade and her farm is a testament to her multi-generational, family dedication to farming hops,” explains Floyd. “Gayle’s commitment to food safety and sustainability is inspiring.”

Green Haze Stats
Green Haze is an ode to Oregon and everything green. Cultivated by Goschie Farms, a mere 70 miles from the brewery, 400 pounds of fresh Centennial hops are transported from farm to brew kettle in just over an hour. Full of citrus and floral hop notes, Green Haze captures the freshest hops of the year.

Ninkasi Brewing Introduces Cans, January 2018

EUGENE, Ore.—Aug. 22, 2017Ninkasi Brewing Company, an independent craft brewery based in Eugene, Ore., announces its introduction of cans, January 2018. Years in the making, the brewery will unveil three brands to 12-ounce cans across its distribution footprint early next year.

Founded in 2006 by Jamie Floyd and Nikos Ridge, Ninkasi continues to operate wholly from its home base of Eugene, Ore., earning the ranking of the thirty-third largest craft brewery in the United States (Brewers Association, 2017). Ninkasi first entered the craft beer scene with Total Domination IPA. The top-selling IPA in Oregon, Total Domination IPA was recently recognized by OregonLive as one of the 10 most influential IPAs in the state. Now, Ninkasi produces seven year-round Flagship Series beers: Total Domination IPA, Tricerahops Double IPA, Dawn of the Red IPA, Hop Cooler Citrus IPA, Pacific Rain Northwest Pale, Helles Belles Lager, and Vanilla Oatis Oatmeal Stout.

Originally released to Ninkasi’s Rare & Delicious Series in March 2017, the brewery is proud to elevate this beer to its Special Release Series in 12 and 22-ounce bottles and on-draft. Available August through December, beer drinkers can find First Rule IPA across Ninkasi’s distribution footprint.

Crafted with the most sought-after hops, First Rule IPA is a testament to brewing without limitations. Ninkasi’s brewing team developed this recipe almost in secrecy, using the best hops available. Ninkasi Brewing Announces The Return of its Seasonal, Oktoberfest, and the launch of its new Fall IPA Variety 12-Pack

EUGENE, Ore.—Aug. 2, 2017—Heading into fall, Ninkasi Brewing Company announces the return of its Seasonal Release Series beer, Oktoberfest, and the launch of its Fall IPA Variety 12-Pack - both available throughout Ninkasi’s distribution footprint. Celebrating the region’s love of hops, these beers boast Northwest ingredients and flavor. Available early this month, beer drinkers can find Ninkasi’s Oktoberfest in 12oz. 6-packs, 22oz. bottles and on-draft, through the end of September.  The Fall IPA Variety 12-Pack hits the shelf mid-August, available until end of the year.

Seasonal Release Series: Oktoberfest
Crafted with Sterling, Crystal, Willamette, and Mt. Hood hops, this Oktoberfest marries Northwest ingredients with a traditional German style. Celebrating the harvest, this light-bodied beer has a toasty malt bouquet and just a touch of hop bitterness.

“Our Oktoberfest is a Northwest take on a classic Bavarian-style lager,” says Jamie Floyd, Ninkasi co-founder and founding brewer. “Featuring four Oregon-grown hop varieties, we dry hop this beer and let it condition for two months; this allows it to reach the perfect balance of a light-bodied lager with a subtle toasted malt complexity on par with the beers you’ll find at traditional Oktoberfest celebrations.”

Ninkasi Brewing Brings Back Beer Run IPA

Beer Run IPA Available In Bottles and On Draft, May Through Sept., 2017
EUGENE, Ore.—April 27, 2017Based in the heart of Track Town, U.S.A., Ninkasi Brewing Company returns Beer Run IPA to its Special Release Series. Available May through Sept. in 22-ounce bottles, on-draft, and for the first time in 12-ounce 6-packs, this IPA is crafted specifically with runners in mind marrying a rich malt complexity with a clean, tropical hop profile.

Originally debuted in 2016, the recipe for Beer Run IPA was developed with the help of runners across the country. Before officially released to the public, a test batch of Beer Run IPA was brewed and featured at more than 25 community running events. Participants were asked to provide feedback on all aspects of the beer including taste and aroma. Ninkasi’s brewing team gathered that feedback and used it to craft the final Beer Run IPA recipe. Later in the year, the brewery partnered with nonprofit, TrackTown USA, to become the official beer of TrackTown USA. 

“The momentum behind this beer is humbling,” says Jamie Floyd, Ninkasi co-founder and founding brewer. “From elite and Olympic-level competitors to those who simply like to get out and explore local trails, it’s exciting to see all kinds of runners enjoying a beer we made just for them. This beer even inspired me to get back into running.”

“The Ninkasi team really did a phenomenal job sculpting a beer that fits every level of running,” says two-time Olympian Andrew Wheating of Oregon Track Club Elite and Ninkasi Team Total Domination member.

At 7.3% ABV and 80 IBUs, this IPA features hints of cherry, tropical fruit and spice paired with a bright, clean, bitter finish, and an earthy, tropical and juicy hop profile.

Ninkasi Brewing Releases Summer IPA Variety Pack

EUGENE, Ore.—April 20, 2017—Since 2006, Ninkasi Brewing Company, an independent craft brewery based in Eugene, Ore., has built an acclaimed portfolio of well-balanced IPAs, including Total Domination IPA—the top-selling IPA in Oregon. Available May through September, the brewery serves up the best of its IPAs in a Summer IPA Variety Pack. Offering an array of IPAs perfect for any palate, the Summer IPA Variety Pack will include three, 12-ounce bottles of Total Domination IPA, Dawn of the Red IPA, Beer Run IPA, and Hop Cooler Citrus IPA.

Dawn of the Red IPA – 7.0% ABV, 66 IBU
Bursting with tropical notes, this Red IPA captures the bright complexity of El Dorado and Mosaic hops. An assertive hop presence is carried by a subtle caramel backbone, unearthing a beer that is flavorful and juicy.

Beer Run IPA – 7.3% ABV, 80 IBU
