From classic Session Lager to innovative Blood Orange, Full Sail wins best of the U.S.

Hood River, Oregon – October 4, 2016 – The Olympics may be over but Full Sail Brewing is still helping the U.S. bring home gold. The brewery won seven best of the U.S. medals at this year’s annual World Beer Awards, the international competition that uses a blind tasting system to choose the very best beers across the globe.

Session Premium Lager – which has 22 gold medals to its name already – won U.S. Best Helles/Münchner. Full Sail Blood Orange Wheat took home gold for U.S. Fruit & Vegetable Flavored Beer, Hop Pursuit IPA won silver for U.S. Pale Beer-IPA, Full Sail Classic IPA won silver for U.S Pale Beer/Golden, Session Black won U.S. Best Dark Lager, Session Cream won the U.S. Best Cream Ales category, and Session IPA took bronze for U.S. Pale Ale.

“We don’t brew our beers to win medals but it sure is fun when we do!” says Full Sail Executive Brewmaster Jamie Emmerson. “We love making world-class beer here in the small town of Hood River, and we’re incredibly proud of our broad variety of balanced beers taking home medals from this year’s World Beer Awards. Now you be the judge.”

Over the years, Full Sail’s passion and commitment have earned the brewery more than 300 medals and awards (more than 150 of them golds) at national and international competitions and tastings. Be sure to try these ridiculously tasty award winners for yourself.

Full Sail Says Aloha to Hawaii

Hood River, Oregon – August 8, 2016 – Since Hawaii has a history of appreciating high-quality craft beer, Full Sail Brewing’s reintroduction to the islands is being met with enthusiasm and its fair share of mahalo.

Beginning this summer Full Sail’s Amber, Classic IPA, Pilsner, Blood Orange Wheat and Session Premium Lager, Session IPA, Session Black and Session Mashup variety pack with Lager, IPA, Wheat and Cream Ale will be cold shipped to Hawaii through Paradise Beverages, Hawaii’s premier craft-beer distributor with more than 400 employees statewide.

“We’re proud of our Oregon heritage as a craft-brewing pioneer and we want to bring something genuine and worthwhile from Oregon to Hawaii,” says Barney Brennan, Full Sail’s Hawaii sales manager. Brennan, who’s no stranger to Hawaii’s local beer culture – having lived and worked as a brewer in both Hawaii and Hood River, Oregon – knows the cultural overlap between Oregon and Hawaii thrives in nature, the water and good vibes. “The beer culture has grown so much here due to the high-quality local brewers and exceptional people, and we look forward to sharing in and supporting this movement,” Brennan adds.

Citing Paradise Beverages’ cold shipping and cold storage on all islands, Full Sail’s commitment to maintaining the highest quality product for Hawaii is evident. Hawaiians who remember Full Sail’s Amber and IPA from the 90s, when it was last distributed on the islands, will be happy to hear that these are the same beers today. Amber, with a recipe that hasn’t changed since 1987, represents the industry standard in the American amber ale category. Full Sail’s 20-year-old Classic IPA recipe is a Northwest favorite. Full Sail’s hop-forward Pilsner and new-for-2016 Blood Orange Wheat are fresh innovations for Hawaii, along with the Session family of high-quality, every-occasion, go-to beers. Clean, balanced and drinkable, with a broad range of fans, Session has a place in every refrigerator on and off the islands.

Full Sail plans to expand its offering and breadth of distribution over time. Based in Hawaii, Brennan absolutely appreciates and respects the efforts that the local brewing community brings to its craft and how much things have developed. “I believe in what we do and how we do it,” Brennan says, “and I want to share that with locals and visitors in this amazing place.”
