REDHOOK’S NO EQUAL BLONDE ALE, BREWED IN COLLABORATION WITH EMERALD CITY SUPPORTERS, WINS GOLD AT WASHINGTON BEER AWARDS

SEATTLE – Redhook Brewery is proud to announce that its ECS No Equal Blonde Ale won a gold medal in the American Light Ale category at the second annual Washington Beer Awards. More than 700 beers were entered in this year’s competition by more than one hundred Washington breweries.

Redhook ECS No Equal Blonde is a traditional Blonde Ale, brewed in collaboration with the Emerald City Supporters, the largest supporters’ group for Seattle Sounders FC.

“This is more than just an awesome win for Redhook, it’s a win for Seattle,” said Redhook’s Innovation Brewer Nick Crandall. “We take great pride in making beer that’s not only delicious, but celebrates our hometown.  The Sounders are an incredible source of pride in this city, and we’re pumped that we’ve brewed an award-winning beer  that recognizes  their amazing fans.”

The competition evaluated beers that were required to be both brewed and made commercially available in Washington State, and Redhook’s No Equal Blonde Ale beat out a number of competitors, including Reuben's Brews Cream Ale and Ram Restaurant & Brewery’s Blonde Ale.

Redhook Brewery is proud to receive this honor in its home state of Washington, where the rapidly growing craft beer market has expanded to more than 250 breweries. Redhook recently made the decision to return to its hometown roots and open a new brewpub in Seattle, close to where the original brewery was located in the 1981.

About the Beer
ECS No Equal Blonde is traditionally brewed Blonde Ale. The use of Pale malt, malted wheat and crystal malts give this beer just the right amount of body and character. Traditional Northwest hops - Cascade and Willamette – help balance out the malt and leave a nice, refreshing citrus flavor. Clean, crisp and refreshing – enough to keep you going for the full 90. It has been brewed since 2014 and is available during the summer season.ABV 5.2% and 25 IBU.

About Redhook
Redhook was born out of the energy and spirit of the early 80s in the heart of Seattle. While the term didn’t exist at the time, Redhook became one of America’s first “craft” breweries. From a modest start in a former transmission shop in the Seattle neighborhood of Ballard, to the current breweries in Woodinville, WA, and Portsmouth, NH, Redhook has become one of America’s most recognized craft breweries. While Redhook has “grown up” over the past thirty years, one thing has never changed—Redhook is still brewing great beers like ESB, Long Hammer IPA and Audible Ale. Most importantly, Redhook has fun doing it. Redhook beers are available on draught and in bottles around the country. For more information, visit www.redhook.com.
