ABOUT BALE BREAKER BREWING CO.
Bale Breaker Brewing Company makes handcrafted ales that showcase the world-class hops grown in the heart the Yakima Valley. Hops are in the family's DNA: the great-grandparents of sibling-owners Meghann Quinn, Kevin Smith, and Patrick Smith first planted hops in the Yakima Valley in 1932, the year before Prohibition ended. Over four generations, their love of hops has evolved into a passion for craft beer. Today, Meghann, Kevin and Patrick are in the midst of running an independent production brewery surrounded by their family’s hop fields, just down the road from where they were born and raised.

It’s Here! New Belgium Brewing’s Fat Tire Belgian White Appearing on Shelves Now

Courtesy of New Belgium Brewing Co
Ft. Collins, Colo. August 1, 2017 – New Belgium Brewing’s Fat Tire Belgian White is rolling out nationwide this month. For the first time in twenty-six years Fat Tire, an American craft beer icon, expands its trademark family by adding Fat Tire Belgian White. The new addition is a light-bodied unfiltered wheat ale brewed with juicy Seville orange peel and freshly ground coriander. It offers the perfect balance of refreshment and drinkability with just a hint of sweetness.

“Fat Tire Belgian White is a perfect reflection of our rich history and decades of experience brewing Belgian-style beers,” said New Belgium Brewer Cody Reif. “We listened to what people want in a Belgian White and incorporated all that feedback into this beer. It definitely captures the spirit of everything we believe an authentic Belgian White should be, and what so many desire – subtle sweetness and light bodied.”

Freshly ground Indian coriander, sourced from Old Town Spice Shop in Ft. Collins, Colo., which is less than a mile from New Belgium, paired with juicy Seville orange peel gives Fat Tire Belgian White its bright, yet mild sweetness. The beer also features a blend of Nugget Hops for bittering and Cascade Hops for aroma.

Fat Tire Belgian White is available in 12oz. bottles, on draft, and in can variety packs.

Crafted with Sterling, Crystal, Willamette, and Mt. Hood hops, this Oktoberfest marries Northwest ingredients with a traditional German style. Celebrating the harvest, this light-bodied beer has a toasty malt bouquet and just a touch of hop bitterness.

“Our Oktoberfest is a Northwest take on a classic Bavarian-style lager,” says Jamie Floyd, Ninkasi co-founder and founding brewer. “Featuring four Oregon-grown hop varieties, we dry hop this beer and let it condition for two months; this allows it to reach the perfect balance of a light-bodied lager with a subtle toasted malt complexity on par with the beers you’ll find at traditional Oktoberfest celebrations.”

Fall IPA Variety 12-Pack
Available mid-August, Ninkasi’s Fall IPA Variety 12-Pack showcases a medley of IPAs, suitable for any hop-happy palate. Three, 12oz. bottles of Total Domination IPA, Dawn of the Red IPA, Hop Cooler Citrus IPA, and First Rule IPA, offer four takes on the favored Northwest style.

“This Fall IPA Variety Pack demonstrates the flexibility of the IPA style,” explains Floyd. “A range of flavors and aromas within this single style can easily fit many occasions; it’s a convenient way to celebrate those end-of-the-season gatherings and outdoor barbeques.”

Total Domination IPA – 6.7% ABV, 81 IBU
This decidedly balanced Northwest IPA celebrates our love of hops. A delightful blend of citrus and floral hop notes dominate the senses while a trio of malt adds a clean finish. Totally hoppy, totally drinkable; the name says it all.

Dawn of the Red IPA – 7.0% ABV, 66 IBU
Bursting with tropical notes, this Red IPA captures the bright complexity of El Dorado and Mosaic hops. An assertive hop presence is carried by a subtle caramel backbone, unearthing a beer that is flavorful and juicy.

Hop Cooler Citrus IPA – 7.2% ABV, 74 IBU
Bright and tropical, this India Pale Ale brilliantly layers a citrusy blend of orange and tangerine with a robust hop profile. Crafted with real citrus and packed with as much flavor as a hop cooler, you won’t be able to stop at just one sip of this fresh and fruity beer.

First Rule IPA – 7.5% ABV, 60 IBU
First rule of this IPA is: you do not talk about this IPA. Crafted in secrecy by our band of brewers, First Rule uses a fistful of the most sought-after hops around. Juicy, citrusy, tropical and dank, this IPA is a powerful combination of hop aroma and flavor.

Ecliptic and the Eclipse: Beer and Special Events

Courtesy of Ecliptic Brewing Co
PORTLAND, Ore. (August 2)- Ecliptic Brewing was opened based on Owner and Brewmaster John Harris’ two passions: brewing and astronomy.  As the total solar eclipse in Oregon approaches, it is only fitting that Harris’ space brewery is celebrating the big day with an eclipse themed beer and special events.

Ecliptic Brewing has started to release their Chromosphere Blonde Ale, brewed for the solar eclipse, in to their Oregon and Washington markets.  The beer style was inspired by the color of the sun and the desire to have a sessionable ale to drink while experiencing the eclipse on August 21, 2017.
In addition to the beer, Ecliptic will be taking part in and hosting several eclipse themed events, detailed below.

“This day has been one that I have been thinking about for a long time and having a beer for the day was of huge importance to me,” said Harris.  “The can design (done by Senior Art Director at Sasquatch Agency, Sean Haggerty) honors the event and the beer inside just as I had hoped and I can’t wait for you all to drink it while watching the eclipse.”

A sessionable ale for the solar eclipse.  Amarillo and Cascade hops add citrusy flavors and aroma.
