Part of the 'Crown Series' seasonal offerings, Punk'In Drublic Imperial Pumpkin Ale is crafted to stand out from your garden variety pumpkin beer. "We brewed Punk'In Drublic to be a bigger, bolder version of a pumpkin beer. Since it's inception three years ago, Punk'In Drublic has garnered fans near and wide for its bold use of spices and real pumpkin. "We use real pumpkin puree--one pound per barrel of beer--as well as cinnamon, nutmeg, allspice, brown sugar, and honey. History of Washington Brewing With Author Michael F. Rizzo at Loowit Brewing August 14th

Hop into the history of Evergreen State brewing with author Michael F. Rizzo on Sunday, August 14th from 3-5pm at Loowit Brewing Company in downtown Vancouver. Brewing history touches every corner of Washington. 

When it was a territory, homesteader operations like Colville Brewery helped establish towns. In 1865, Joseph Meeker planted the state’s first hops in Steilacoom. Today, nearly three hundred breweries and brewpubs call Washington home. 

Author Michael F. Rizzo unveils the epic story of brewing in Washington in his new book Washington Beer: A Heady History of Evergreen State Brewing, and will be discussing history and more in this upcoming appearance. 
The book will be available for purchase, as will tasters of Loowit's craft brews.

Ninkasi Brewing Company Rebrands Vanilla Oatis, Retires Original Oatis

New Vanilla Oatis Packaging & 12oz. 6-Packs to Hit Shelves Late August

EUGENE, Ore.—Aug. 11, 2016Ninkasi Brewing Company, an independent craft brewery based in Eugene, Oregon, announces a new look for its Flagship Series Stout, Vanilla Oatis. New Vanilla Oatis branding will roll out on all packages starting late August across the brewery’s distribution territory. For the first time, fans will also be able to find Vanilla Oatis in 12oz. 6-packs. 

A favorite since 2009, Vanilla Oatis continues to satisfy Stout lovers across the nation. “This beer begins with the original Oatis recipe,” explains Jamie Floyd, Ninkasi founding brewer and co-founder. “The Oatis is an Oatmeal Stout, really dry finish, lots of roasted hints up front and a smooth mouth feel that comes from the rolled oats.”

The primary difference between Oatis and Vanilla Oatis is simply one ingredient: vanilla beans imported directly to Eugene from Madagascar. To achieve this higher level of decadence, whole vanilla beans are individually hand-split by Ninkasi’s cellar team before being added to the final stage of conditioning—the same process used to dry hop a beer. Floyd explains that the vanilla changes the complexity and the flavor profile of the beer and sweetens up the taste overall.

“We strive to create unique, full-flavored beers with interesting flavor profiles,” says Floyd. “Vanilla Oatis is the last of our Flagship Series beers to get an updated look this year; we’re excited to bring more attention to this delicious Stout.” 

Ninkasi creative director, Nick Yarger, explains the intention of the rebrand is to reflect the “feminine perspective” of the beer. “Hand-drawn vanilla beans, hummingbirds and flowers elegantly grace the packaging and subtle warm tones contrast the heaviness of the beer,” explains Yarger. 

As new Vanilla Oatis packaging rolls out, the brewery will begin to phase out its year-round offering of Oatis Oatmeal Stout. “Those who loved Oatis will enjoy Vanilla Oatis just as much,” says Floyd. “This beer is every bit as soul-satisfying as the original.”

A divine blend of vanilla, coffee, chocolate, and roasted malt notes swirl together to create a smooth Oatmeal Stout with a crisp finish. Victory Brewing Company Brings Back Sour Monkey and Moonglow Weizenbock

Downingtown, PA, August 10, 2016 – Victory Brewing Company announces the return of Sour Monkey, a sharp twist on their Belgian-style Tripel, Golden Monkey and Moonglow Weizenbock, a spicy and fruity dark amber wheat. Sour Monkey made its debut in 2015 while Moonglow has been a Victory staple for 15 years. Hitting shelves in August, both beers pack a punch at 9.5% and 8.7% ABV respectively and are perfect bookends to the summer season. Sour Monkey is a refreshingly tart brew to bid adieu to summer while Moonglow is the perfect welcome ‘bock’ to autumn.

Returning for its second season, Sour Monkey incorporates multiple fermentations – the first of which incorporates Westmalle yeast that lends itself to the traditional ‘monkey’ character for which it’s named. The sour, Brettanomyces-infused Tripel is a transformation of Victory’s beloved, Golden Monkey. Sour Monkey combines whole flower hops with Pilsner malt and coriander before adding the fun and funk of non-standard yeast varieties. These yeasts are known for their volatility and are often left out of the brewing process due to their hard to control nature. However, the brewers at Victory have harnessed the power of the yeast with a unique recipe, fermentation control, and final blending within the brewing process, to create exciting, savory nuances. Moonglow Weizenbock originates from German brewing tradition utilizing whole flower German hops and German malts. A rich, dark beer it is brewed with over 50% malted wheat, making it a traditional unfiltered Bavarian weizenbock. Fruity, spicy and nutty aromas create deep warmth and flavors of clove, vanilla and honey make it an ideal sipper. The All the Time Series gets a custom art makeover


PORTLAND, Ore. (August 10, 2016) ---. At just shy of three years old, Ecliptic Brewing announces a standout update to their All the Time Series design. 
 
The focus at Ecliptic is about creating a sense of place in both the restaurant and the beer they build.  The first few years have also been focused on getting the Ecliptic brand in front of people and on the shelf.  Recently, the team decided that it was time to hone in the personality of their core beers and let that shine with a move toward custom art.

“With the recent addition of Carina Peach Sour Ale to the line-up, we felt that it was time to give our year-round beers their own identity but still keep them part of the family.” said Owner and Brewmaster John Harris. “I am excited to see the new labels hit the shelves!”

Designed by Sasquatch Agency, the new labels feature familiar themes that are true to the brewery--- creativity and a nod to astronomy.  “We’re flipping the read so we can get more expressive, while also helping visually differentiate each beer as the core line up grows,” said Sean Haggerty Senior Art Director at Sasquatch Agency.

And there is more.
Ecliptic Brewing has also taken this time to update Spica Pilsner with a new hop variety and name.  This beer will now feature Mandarina Bavaria hops and be called Spectra Hoppy Pilsner.

“When I first saw Mandarina Bavaria hops I knew that I wanted to one day incorporate them into our Pilsner,” said Harris.

The addition of Mandarina Bavaria hops to Ecliptic Brewing’s Pilsner gives the beer a pleasant citrus aroma. Further, in order to better describe this unfiltered Kellerbier that casts an array of hop flavors and aromas, it will now be called Spectra Hoppy Pilsner.
